Occasionally valves can leak and this is normally because they need tightening as the material settles and shifts in use. As the valves are designed to be removed, this can very easily be resolved by tightening them using a valve tool.

When tightening a valve you will want to make sure the valve basket isn't spinning freely, so in order to stop this, you can do the following:

  1. Grab the valve basket through the underside of the board with one hand and use the other hand to tighten.
  2. Place the board on the floor, kneel either side of the fin box to pull the PVC taught (this will create pressure and push the valve basket into the floor and hold still) The valve can then be tightened.
If the customer uses short sharp tightening motions this is normally an effective way of getting it as tight as possible. If this is unsuccessful they will need to remove the valve and check for drop stitch in the way of the valve and valve basket and then re-align and tighten.
